Contract experience

Ted has experience of most variations of the industry standard forms of contract including JCT, ICE, I Chem E, CPA, Model Form and FIDIC. He has worked on many other bespoke forms of contract covering a wide range of construction related issues and installations. He has drafted a number of bespoke agreements concerning construction and project-related issues for both public and private sector clients.

General experience

Ted deals with a wide range of construction and project-related work. He is involved in dispute resolution at all levels in the construction industry and has considerable experience of arbitration, both domestic and international. He has also been extensively involved in litigation, conducting cases in the County and High Courts, the Court of Appeal and the Technology and Construction Court. He has been involved in over 20 adjudications.

Career

Ted has an honours law degree from University College, Cardiff. He started his legal career as a clerk dealing with commercial property, landlord and tenant and general litigation and construction issues in the solicitors' department of Prudential Assurance. Ted joined Fenwick Elliott in July 1991 and completed the Legal Practice course in 1996. He qualified as a solicitor and became an associate in 1997. Ted was made a partner in October 2002.

Other activities

Ted has lectured at seminars organised by the Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers and by Fenwick Elliott. He has appeared in the Television Education Network/Einstein series of programmes, speaking on construction-related topics. Ted also contributes case reports and book reviews to the Construction Industry Law Letter.
