Dispute Resolution Experience
Steven has a particular focus on dispute resolution acting for developers and contractors in all the usual dispute forums including adjudication, litigation, arbitration, mediation and expert determination. Dispute experience ranges from all manner of defects and payment disputes, disputed variations, claims relating to delay and disruption, repudiation and termination and issues associated with a final account. Steven has dealt with disputed calls on bonds and claims against insurers plus one major disputed claim under a latent defects policy.
Project Work
Steven has gained a wide experience from advising a diverse mix of developers and contractors in relation to many of the recognised standard and some bespoke forms of contract. This includes drafting and negotiating funder approved packages for traditional procurement, design and build and construction management including the usual supporting security documentation such as bonds, guarantees and warranties. Steven has also advised upon and negotiated many of the industry standard and bespoke forms of professional appointment. Experience also includes acting for developers on a number of zero rated sale and construction agreements to registered social landlords as well as obtaining direct HCA grant funding for a developer.
Career
Steven’s training was sponsored at what was Taylor Woodrow Construction where he joined as a legal executive and then qualified as a solicitor in 1998. Steven moved to private practice at Campbell Hooper LLP in 2000 and joined Fenwick Elliott in August 2009.

Steven is a member of the Law Society and the Adjudication Society.
